COVID-19 Information & Updates

Club Update - 26th November 2020

We are pleased to confirm that the tennis club will be reopening on 2nd December.  The committee is currently waiting for further Covid-19 guidance for tennis venues to be issued and this is expected in the next day or so.  We are also waiting for final confirmation as to how the tier system being introduced will impact play and travel.  Once this has been published, a further note will be sent to members informing them of any changes to the current measures we have in place at the club.  Again the committee’s priority is the safety of our members.

The committee would also like to update members on the following –

The coaching team are keen to get back on court and they will shortly be sending out an email to members setting out their coaching protocols for returning to court.

Court re-surfacing

The contractor, Trevor May, is now on site and the re-surfacing of courts 5-8 has commenced. The club is very excited that the works have started, although we appreciate that these courts will now be out of action for a few weeks. As we are limited to only four courts we would kindly request that all members review their bookings to confirm that they are up to date. Should any members find that they are no longer able to play on the sessions they have booked we ask that you please cancel your booking immediately so the court is available for other members.

Policies update

The club’s ‘Health and Safety Policy’ and ‘Privacy Policy’ have recently been updated. These policies, along with all other club policies, can be found on our website within the ‘Downloads’ section under the ‘Our Policies’ tab. We have included the link below.

The club has recently acquired a new tennis ball recycling unit - please see the picture below. This will be positioned just outside the clubhouse and we would be very grateful if members can put their used balls into this bin. This is a really valuable fundraising tool for the club and just since April we have received over £250 for tennis balls that we have sent off. We would like to thank all of the members for their support with this.

We would also like to remind members that you can raise money for the club every time that you shop online. We are registered with ‘easyfundraising’. The scheme is easy to set up and then every time you shop online you are helping raise much needed funds for the tennis club. The link to our cause is attached below

We would again like to thank members for their support this year and we look forwarding to welcoming you back on court.
